Lawn Doctor and Mosquito Hunters Form Parent Company, Happinest, Which Has Also Acquired ecomaids
Happinest, the newly-formed parent company for Lawn Doctor, Mosquito Hunters and now ecomaids, will offer comprehensive franchisee support across all three brands.
They say three’s a crowd, but “they” have clearly never been to this party.
One year after combining forces, lawn care franchise Lawn Doctor and bug-banishing franchise
Mosquito Hunters have officially formed Happinest. Happinest will act as a parent company to
the two brands, which are also being joined by the acquisition of ecomaids, a cleaning service
franchise that touts the use of environmentally-friendly practices and products. Together, the
three combined brands will pave the way for further franchise domination in the home services
industry.
The acquisition of ecomaids and the formation of Happinest fulfill Lawn Doctor executives’ and
Chairman and CEO Scott Frith’s long-awaited goal of creating a multi-brand company.
“Our acquisition of ecomaids and the formation of Happinest are extremely exciting for us,” said
Frith. “My dream was for Lawn Doctor to become a multi-brand home services provider and
each of the Happinest brands brings its own unique attributes to the table.”
The unification of the three brands will also strengthen each one’s franchise offering and expand
the resources available to franchisees. Lawn Doctor Franchise Development Manager Ronald
Ens is thrilled by the formation of Happinest and what it means for the brands involved.
“Happinest will play a huge role in taking Lawn Doctor, Mosquito Hunters and ecomaids to the
next level,” Ens said. “This will allow us to strengthen our franchisee resources, which will no
doubt help us continue to attract high-caliber candidates.”
Lawn Doctor Vice President of Franchise Development Eric Martin echoed this.
“We see the opportunity to share resources through our new infrastructure,” Martin said. “We
can leverage marketing, IT, finance, call centers and more across all three brands.”
As part of the acquisition, ecomaids welcomes newly appointed CEO Lindsay Dellasega to the
Senior Leadership team. Dellasega started off with ecomaids as a franchisee. She first ran an independent ecomaids location in Portland and was named CEO of the entire company in July of 2019. She noted that
ecomaids is “in building mode” for the rest of 2019 and 2020 and actively looking for franchisees
who will help grow the brand and promote its unique offerings in their markets. The formation of
Happinest puts ecomaids in a prime position to accelerate its growth.
“Happinest provides a major opportunity for the ecomaids brand,” Dellasega said. “With its eco-
friendly offering, ecomaids is a brand that will be well-received nationwide. I trust the Happinest
leadership team will help take the brand to the next level.”
Also new to the ecomaids team are franchise development professionals Sharon Cupach and
Diane Wright. Both bring a wealth of experience in helping emerging systems attract and
onboard franchise partners.
Cupach was recruited by Martin to the ecomaids team in July. She brings more than 20 years of
franchise experience to the table, including launching her own franchise concept and working in
franchise development and consulting.
“What really excited me about the Happinest formation was the culture of the team,” Cupach
said. “Lindsay of ecomaids is amazing. She truly believes in the ecological process and making
sure customers and employees are not harmed in any way by any type of chemical. She wants
them to literally breathe easier, and when you start a franchise and a business where the top of
the culture is that pure, it really makes for a strong franchise opportunity. This is a needed
service that is not oversaturated in franchising.”
Wright, who had previously helped put sister company Mosquito Hunters on the map, will now
place her focus on launching the newest Happinest brand. The longevity of Lawn Doctor and
Mosquito Hunters bodes well for the future of ecomaids, Wright said.
“I think the benefit of having Happinest behind ecomaids is the depth of the team’s experience
in helping to grow and develop franchise systems,” Wright said. “Lawn Doctor is a household
name and a trusted brand that has been franchising since the late 1960s and Mosquito Hunters
is one of the fastest-growing franchises out there. I’m really confident that based on those two
brands, Happinest will be equally successful with ecomaids.”
And Happinest is not stopping with three brands.
“There are a few different franchise concepts we are looking into that fit well within the home
services offering,” Martin said. “The launch of Happinest with three brands is just the very
beginning stages of our plan. Now that we’ve added a third brand, our vision has become so
much clearer. There is a lot of opportunity to continue to develop and grow.”
