Why Maria Candelaria Jumped at the Opportunity to Become the Franchise Business Advisor for ecomaids®

The eco-friendly home cleaning service ecomaids is the newest addition to the Happinest franchise brand family, which also includes the successful outdoor service brands Lawn Doctor and Mosquito Hunters. While launching ecomaids, the executive team at Happinest made some serious moves when it came to placing new team members in the right spot for optimal growth with an emerging franchise brand. One of those hires was Maria Candelaria, former member of the RAMP team at Lawn Doctor and current Franchise Business Advisor for ecomaids.

Candelaria has been with the Happinest family since October 2017, working with Lawn Doctor as a marketing coordinator. “I loved working in the Lawn Doctor world, but I was looking for something that offered me a little more responsibility and also fit more with my personality and long-term career goals,” said Candelaria on her introduction to ecomaids. “When I found out that ecomaids was coming on board, I jumped at the opportunity. The brand and the vision really aligned with me as a person, and I approached management asking if I could come on board.” 

When Candelaria was working for Lawn Doctor in the marketing department, much of her role involved working with newly opened franchises, so the transition into being a franchise business advisor felt very natural. “I would fly out and help new franchisees with equipment and marketing,” said Candelaria, whose role has now evolved into more of a coaching position. “I provide whatever I can for new franchisees when it comes to opening up their business and ramping up their ground game. Whether it is an onboarding question, helping owners gain a better understanding of our marketing programs, or plugging in to help with the ordering their products, I am someone they can always go to.”

As the name implies, one of ecomaids key differentiators in the home services segment is a commitment to using environmentally-friendly products. The brand takes its commitment to this mission very seriously and has implemented a proprietary line of cleaning supplies that have been certified by Green Seal and EPA Safer Choice.

As consumers increasingly opt for environmentally friendly and sustainable services, a role like Candelaria’s couldn’t be more essential for the ecomaids brand, which is poised to grow rapidly at a national level. “When I started, we had only two franchises,” said Candelaria. “It’s personally really exciting to me to think about how much growth potential we have, and to be able to say five years from now that I started at the beginning. We want to become a household name.”

From a franchisee perspective, Candelaria noted that the Happinest umbrella brand is a huge factor in terms of franchisee support. “The team behind Lawn Doctor has built out an extremely successful business model, and they have done so for a long time,” said Candelaria. “Everything is going to be aligned across all three brands, and it’s going to make those systems and processes even easier and more efficient.”
