Famous Dave's has rolled out four new menu items based off of past success at the brand's Coon Rapids location. The new dishes, which were rolled out system-wide in late-October, include cheese curds, a build-your-own-burger, a three-meat combo plate and hand-breaded chicken tenders. These items were tested by franchisees over the summer before officially becoming core items.

Head of Culinary, Sylvia Matzke-Hill explained, "it's a big menu overhaul."

Additionally, CEO Jeff Crivello told the reporter, "(it's) first time the brand has had a menu shift of this magnitude."

The menu refresh came after announcing Crivello as CEO last November. His focus has since been on elevating the menu to entice diners to order more often. Another initiative the restaurant is working on is adding "ghost restaurants," which will be virtual kitchens designed specifically for catering and delivery. Chief Operating Officer Geovannie Concepcion mentioned the brand is looking at locations in California and Minneapolis, and hoping to "go live by December."
