After feeling unfulfilled in her corporate sales job,&nbsp;<a href="https://www.linkedin.com/in/chrissy-brown-7b193767?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=a-day-in-the-life-of-a-fitness-premier-247-clubs-gym-operator-2720292" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Chrissy Brown</a> decided to change careers and do something that motivated her. She worked to get her personal trainer certification and helped members at various gyms like Anytime Fitness and OrangeTheory Fitness.Brown was a member of the&nbsp;<a href="https://fitnesspremierclubs.com/own-a-fitness-premier/?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=a-day-in-the-life-of-a-fitness-premier-247-clubs-gym-operator-2720292" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Fitness Premier 24/7 Clubs</a> in Minooka, Illinois. The manager there approached her one day while she was exercising and invited her to be a trainer at the fast-growing, 18-unit fitness franchise.&nbsp;After excelling in the role for a couple of years, Brown was offered an assistant manager position and quickly grew to enjoy leadership. So when her boss, franchisee Eric Greenhill, was ready to open a new&nbsp;<a href="https://1851franchise.com/fitforyoufranchising/">Fitness Premier</a> location, she made it known that she’d like to be the operator.&nbsp;“I told Eric I felt prepared to branch out independently, challenge myself, and run my own shop. Thankfully, he took me seriously, and we opened just over a year ago,” Brown explained.Since beginning operations in the nearby city of Plainfield last August, Brown has been busy establishing different aspects of the gym. The unit was an existing gym that was acquired and converted into a Fitness Premier, so she was able to inherit staff, streamlining the launch.“I never was a morning person before, but since my clients are morning people, I am now a morning person,” said Brown. She typically arrives at the gym around five o’clock in the morning. She spends her days coaching classes, training clients, doing onboarding sessions for new members, crunching numbers and managing the staff.&nbsp;“My favorite part is making people feel welcome and at home, creating an all-abilities platform at my location. We work one-on-one with everyone to set them up with a plan and routine to reach their goals. But it’s more than just exercise; we want to make them feel like they are a part of something,” she explained, calling the gym her “pride and joy.”Brown said that she and her staff really value the “cheers effect” at Fitness Premier 24/7 Clubs. They make a point to learn every member’s name, greet them, and get to know them and their personal stories.“A big thing the brand promotes is community and creating an inviting culture and environment within our locations. We’ve created a good place for people to come in and see friends while they take pride in their health,” said Brown.Fitness Premier 24/7 Clubs has also been excellent at offering her opportunities for growth within the brand. Operating a gym is not something Brown thought was possible for her just a few years ago when she started working for the franchise.“I didn't think this was necessarily in my future when I came on board as a trainer. But Fitness Premier provides a fantastic platform for growth,” she said. “A lot of our management started out as front desk staff or trainers; we've got more than a few people who worked their way up, and I think that's a reflection of our community implementation.
