Fitness Premier 24/7 Clubs, the Midwest-based fitness franchise, is officially taking on new duties in its pursuit of comprehensive fitness service. Starting in early 2022, the brand will add a nutrition element at its locations, helping clients achieve more in their health and wellness pursuits — and franchisees achieve more in their projected revenue.

“This new program is going to give franchisees and club operators a lot more opportunities to attract members and staff,” said Emily Schunke Janssen, a lead marketing representative for Fitness Premier. “This will help our service grow in new ways, but most importantly, it will help us provide an even greater service to the people that walk through our doors.”

This nutrition service was spearheaded by Brent Bergeson, a Fitness Premier 24/7 Club operator in Coal City, Illinois. “This nutrition element is something that is missing in a lot of gyms,” he said. “Most fitness and nutrition experts will say the way to achieve health goals is 80% nutrition and 20% exercise. Most gyms only focus on the 20%.”

Members and clients can now anticipate getting the results they want more than ever, thanks to this comprehensive approach. As the nutritional guidance by Fitness Premier 24/7 Clubs is further implemented, more clients can expect an even better experience than the one they were previously accustomed to.

“When I started at the club in Coal City, I already had a background in nutrition,” Bergeson said. “I had a certification going and was working with my clients one-on-one, but not charging them for the service.” Bergeson later advised the Fitness Premier 24/7 Club corporate team of what a nutrition plan could provide on a company-wide scale, and the plan was then set in motion. “When I realized that other clubs weren’t doing this, I approached Rick [King] and Jason and said there was going to be some serious value to it,” he said.

Bergeson added: “We beta-tested this in Coal City, and it's been a hit. I think franchisees and members can really take advantage of this.”

This approach to nutrition can also mean a new revenue stream for franchisees. “We’re excited to capitalize on new business opportunities, and we’re hopeful this new program will help us market ourselves to new franchisees even better,” Janssen said.

A registered dietitian can cost a client anywhere between $100-$140 per hour, a roadblock Bergeson saw would keep clients from reaching fitness goals.

Each participating location of Fitness Premier 24/7 Clubs will have specialists that have completed, or are currently completing, nutritional certification programs. The brand is eager to leverage these new specialist insights with the personal interaction the brand has grown with. “The idea behind it is to focus less on nutrition science and more on coaching and how to make changes in their lives,” Bergeson said.

The launch of this new program will also run in conjunction with a new Fitness Premier challenge, called "New Year, Same You, Just Stronger." The client challenge will start on January 10th, 2022 and will last for six weeks, helping new clients get involved with a new nutrition offering.
