Fitness Premier 24/7 Clubs, the fitness franchise that brings accessible workout options to underserved markets, often reaches beyond the four walls of its gyms to find other ways of serving its communities. Franchisees from the entire system came together for the 2023 holiday season, leading local food drives and Toys for Tots collections as part of a massive give-back campaign.

“Our commitment to community giving is not just a corporate value — it’s part of who we are,” said Jason Markowicz, founder and CEO of Fitness Premier 24/7 Clubs. “We believe that community wellness comes from so much more than just fitness, and we strive to play an integral role in supporting that wellness from all angles.”

One of the participants was Fitness Premier 24/7 Clubs of Blue Ridge, Georgia. After evaluating the needs of its own community, the club hosted a food drive to support families in need.

“Blue Ridge is booming. It’s growing at astronomical rates, so we have a lot of people that have made a living and built wealth coming to retire here, and then we have our very low-income families,” said Tommy Phillips, operator of the Blue Ridge club. “Unfortunately, because the high-income residents account for so much of the population here, our low-income neighbors kind of miss out.”

Phillips added that, because the community has grown so quickly, key charitable organizations in the area have become less capable of fully supporting those in need, and the Blue Ridge Fitness Premier 24/7 Clubs team saw an opportunity to step in and offer even more help during the holiday season.

“We have an opportunity to give that support,” he said. “You don’t see the need as much in the downtown area, but I see families in need as I drop my kids off at school and go to other school-related activities. To know that we were able to help the people that we see as we go about our daily lives is a big deal for me.”

Phillips said that the Blue Ridge location alone gathered a substantial amount of food that was then distributed to families in the surrounding area for Thanksgiving. After seeing the success of this drive, which took place just months after the club first opened, he said the team has a “professional New Year’s resolution” to provide even more support in 2024 beyond key giving times like the holiday season.

Fitness Premier 24/7 Clubs of Blue Ridge is just one example of how the system gave back in 2023. All clubs participated in a donation drive of their choice within their communities.

By actively engaging in local initiatives, fostering partnerships and promoting inclusivity, Fitness Premier 24/7 Clubs underscores its dedication to having a positive impact on the communities it serves, embodying a holistic approach to local wellness.

“We believe that everyone deserves the right to wellness, and true wellness reaches far beyond a great workout — it includes food security, a sense of belonging and connection, and joy,” said Marcowicz. “By breaking down barriers and contributing to the health, wellness and happiness of our communities, we are able to give back in a way that encourages the holistic well-being of the people we serve.”

“Having been a part of several different fitness companies in the industry, this one encourages being out in the community so much more than the others, and I think that’s so great,” said Phillips.
