CVS was the original tenant, but when they wanted to get out of the lease,&nbsp;<a href="https://www.linkedin.com/in/jason-markowicz-cfc-9a87592a?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=fitness-premier-of-bourbonnais-undergoes-major-face-lift-after-20-years-2721083" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Jason Markowicz</a>, our CEO, decided to be a sub-tenant and open his first health club in Bourbonnais,” explained&nbsp;<a href="https://www.linkedin.com/in/michael-orwig-a2168a90/?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=fitness-premier-of-bourbonnais-undergoes-major-face-lift-after-20-years-2721083" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Mike Orwig</a>, vice president of people development. “This all happened in 2003. We call this the OG location, but we haven’t really put a ton of time or effort into it in about 11 years.”“We’ve bought it. We now own the real estate,” Orwig added. “So now is the time! We’re going to reinvest in this original location, give it a facelift and bring everything up to date. We did a little bit of work in 2007, but now we’re ready to put a new roof on, work on the parking lot, add in a recovery and wellness space, rework the layout and more.”Orwig added that these new additions will elevate the location far beyond a standard health club that doesn’t offer much more than rows of treadmills and a few weights.“The Fitness Premier brand is built largely around a mission to bring something unique to the communities we enter,” Markowicz said. “Refreshing the Bourbonnais location will be monumental for the community itself and serves as a strong illustration of the direction we see the brand going in the future.”New Layout and Services at BourbonnaisIn order to provide even more value to its members, Fitness Premier has worked to develop unique offerings that cater to the needs of the individual communities it serves. As the Bourbonnais location is freshened up, members will gain access to infrared sauna therapy, cryotherapy, IV drip therapy, B12 injections and more space for Fitness Premier’s all-encompassing FitWave program.“I’m really glad we’re implementing these recovery options,” explained Keegan Mraz, operating partner at the Bourbonnais location. “They will enhance the club in a way that creates the best experience for every member by helping them recover better. A lot of people seem to overlook recovery, and members who take advantage of these resources will be able to avoid injuries and get better results.”Mraz will be a key player in the reopening and continued growth of the Bourbonnais location. In high school, he connected with Orwig and became involved with the brand. Now, at 23, he has invested in the renovations and is the operating partner of Fitness Premier of Bourbonnais.“He has done a complete turnaround at that location in just the four weeks that he’s been there. Not only from the culture side but the operation side, too,” Orwig said. “He’s building a team around him, and he’s not afraid to get his hands dirty and do whatever needs to be done. He is the exact kind of person we want on our team, and I’m so excited to see the growth of that club under his leadership.”“All of the members I’ve spoken with about the changes are super excited,” Mraz explained, “and I’m looking forward to seeing the club grow. We’re really focusing on building a community and family-type environment, and the changes we’re making will support the future of the Fitness Premier brand in the wellness space as well as providing the best experience for every single member.”The total initial investment necessary to begin the operation of a Fitness Premier Club Model is $279,849 to $575,499, including a $39,999 franchise fee.
