How Emerging Fitness Concept, fitWAVE, Sets Franchisees Up for Success

Offering multiple revenue streams, backend business support and affordable startup costs, the innovative fitness brand helps members and franchisees alike reach their peak potential.

fitWAVE, a group-workout concept focusing on mobility, core, balance and strength, has put together an equally robust franchisee program that offers multiple streams of revenue and a number of other crucial benefits for its owners.

Created by Jason Markowicz, CEO of Franchise Fit for You; Rick King, vice president of Fitness Premier 24/7 Clubs; and industry veteran Josh Chrestman, a former D1 football player and high school wrestling champ, the workout method takes members through phases or “waves” that allow both athletes and casual exercisers to reach their peak potential.

Born out of a desire to help up-and-coming entrepreneurs and fitness enthusiasts become successful business owners, fitWAVE’s innovative programming allows franchisees to build a dedicated fan base quickly, meeting members where their needs are.

By offering a wide array of services, fitWAVE franchisees not only have the ability to help more people reach their goals, but they can also tap into multiple revenue streams and faster ROI in the $4.2 trillion dollar global wellness industry.

“We offer several different fitness options, whether it be personal training, nutritional coaching, recovery or membership,” said Chrestman. “The concept also allows for open gym use for anyone who has signed on to the fitWAVE concept or personal training. fitWAVE franchisees can offer as many services as they are comfortable with and can diversify their revenue streams as they grow.”

While the brand’s membership model and group training is the main revenue stream for franchise partners, they can also build additional revenue through one-on-one personal training, youth sports-specific training, recovery and massage options as well as food, smoothie and supplement sales.

fitWAVE franchisees also have the option to open a Fitness Premier 24/7 Club, acting as more of a traditional gym where members can show up and workout on their own schedule. Both concepts share the same franchisor and can work in tandem.

Offering a flexible footprint that can fit almost any retail space with a scalable concept that ranges from 1,500 to 3,000 square feet, fitWAVE’s smaller-than-average footprint also means dramatically lower startup costs than larger brands. While the average startup costs for boutique fitness franchises range from $250,000 to $1 million, fitWAVE is able to keep costs between $75,000 and $180,000, depending on real estate and additional amenities.

“Thanks to our smaller footprint and streamlined operational model, fitWAVE was designed to help franchisees keep overhead costs very low,” said King. “That allows franchisees to add on revenue streams as they grow, with the full support of experienced fitness industry veterans to help them.”

fitWAVE’s model also allows franchise partners to focus on helping their members and their community without worrying about programming, payroll, hiring, marketing, accounting, billing support and more, all of which is provided by the franchisor. “We take care of day-to-day business operations so franchisees can build their membership and ride the wave to success,” added King.
