In a remarkable demonstration of community support and corporate responsibility, Footprints Floors — the faith-based flooring franchise — has joined forces with Open Door Ministries in Denver to provide not just financial assistance, but also hands-on support that has already made a profound impact on the lives of women and children in need through its First Fruits Fund. This partnership, which began with a simple flooring project, has blossomed into a meaningful relationship grounded in shared values and a commitment to making a difference.

As a company, Footprints Floors has always had a heart for giving back. This comes directly from CEO Bryan Park, who founded Footprints in 2008, and who was responsible for establishing the First Fruits Fund in the first place. However, it was Director of Operations Jon Jarvis who brought Open Door Ministries to the attention of Footprints Floors. The leadership team, moved by the stories of resilience and transformation coming out of the ministry’s programs, reached out to see how Footprints Floors could contribute.

“We didn’t just want to write a check and move on,” Jarvis said. “It was important for Footprints Floors to be involved in a way that really made a difference. That’s why we decided to contribute our time and skills and help wherever we could. We wanted to be in it with them, not just support from a distance.”

Footprints Floors began its journey by sanding and refinishing the first-floor hardwood of Treasure House, a transitional home for single mothers and their children operated by Open Door Ministries. After years of heavy use, the floors were in desperate need of revitalization. Partnering with Dave Cambra from Duraseal, who generously donated the finishing product, Footprints Floors was able to restore the beauty and functionality of these floors, bringing new life to a space that means so much to its residents.

“We definitely couldn’t do it without donors and people who help with the literal upkeep of the house,” said Bailey Armistead, who has been working with Open Door Ministries for over two years and currently serves as Treasure House’s assistant director. “This is a very old three-story home. Jon [Jarvis] and his team at Footprints Floors did an amazing job with the first floor flooring about two-and-a-half years ago. And we had a volunteer the other day who came by and cleaned one of the rooms after a resident had left, and she felt led to buy new furniture because ours was falling apart in that room. We don’t have the budget for it, so we get what we get when the community comes together and provides.”

Footprints Floors’ contribution didn’t stop with the flooring. The company has continued to be an active supporter of Treasure House, offering not only financial donations but also building personal relationships with the residents and staff.

“I love that they give financially, but they also come relationally,” Armistead said. “They hang out with us — eat a meal with us — and that means a lot. I think it’s easy sometimes for organizations to just donate money but not really engage with what you’re doing … But it’s cool to see that [Footprints Floors] truly has a heart for what we’re doing and wants to actually see it and be in it — not just give from a distance.”

One particularly memorable moment for the residents and staff was when Footprints Floors sponsored Christmas gifts for all Treasure House residents. Jarvis and his team personally shopped for and delivered the gifts themselves.

“It’s one thing to give money, but it’s another to be there, to see the impact and to build relationships with the people you’re helping,” said Jarvis. “That’s what makes it real for us, and that’s why we’re so committed to this partnership.”

Open Door Ministries, which has been serving the Denver community for over 25 years, offers a range of programs designed to support individuals in their journey toward self-sufficiency. Treasure House is just part of a broader initiative that includes homeless outreach, youth programs and more.

“We are a two-year program for single moms to get back on their feet holistically, which allows the time needed for healing and lasting change,” said Armistead. “We don’t operate like short-term, temporary housing; we’re that next step. That’s why we’re called transitional housing — it’s the in-between when they’re not quite ready to be on their own, but they’ve also graduated from some sort of inpatient program and are ready for the next step of having support and guidance along the way as they work on their self-sufficiency.”

As the partnership between Footprints Floors and Open Door Ministries continues to evolve, both organizations remain committed to their shared mission of fostering community, compassion and transformation. The impact of this collaboration is evident — not just in the physical improvements to Treasure House, but in the lives that have been touched and the relationships that have been built.

With Footprints Floors’ ongoing support, Open Door Ministries is better equipped to provide the safe, nurturing environment that its inhabitants need to heal and thrive. This partnership stands as a powerful example of what can be achieved when businesses and nonprofits come together with a common purpose and a shared vision for positive change.

ABOUT FOOTPRINTS FLOORS:

Upon his return to Littleton, Colorado, after serving in the U.S. Air Force, Bryan Park noticed that Denver’s flooring industry lacked a higher level of customer service and sophistication. So, in 2008, he founded Footprints Floors, which today specializes in installing hardwood floors, tile floors, backsplashes and laminates. With more than 150 territories, Footprints Floors offers franchisees a robust support system, including a call center, flexible hours for work-life balance and a low cost of entry with outstanding economics.
