Franchise Helps Celebrate Craft Beer Week in Windy City
The Brass Tap is on hand to give beer its due.
While every week is craft beer week for me, the Second City is making suds No. 1 beginning May 14.
The Brass Tap* in Orland Park is among the watering holes participating in the celebration, which runs until May 24.
"We're planning a bunch of events with local brewers and to do something different each day," said Kerri McMullen, who co-owns the Brass Tap with her parents, Tom and Rita, according to the Chicago Tribune.
McMullen went on to highlight just what it is about beer that makes Chicagoans want to devote an entire week to it.
“It's more than just a drink. It's a hobby. It's a conversation starter,” McMullen told the Tribune. “It's a very social thing that people just get together and try different beers, talk about beer. There are so many different styles and flavors.”
Well said, Kerri. Well said.
