What makes your firm stand out as a resource for the franchise industry?
My law partner and I have over 30 years working in the franchise industry, including working in-house for an international franchisor. Working in-house allowed us to witness first-hand the day to day issues and complexities of franchising. This experience makes it easier to understand and identify issues our franchisor clients are facing even though we are not on-site.
What is the No. 1 thing a franchisor/franchisee should look for when identifying the right franchise attorney?
Experience is very important. But there also must be a desire to see that you are successful.
When it comes to your work, what makes you happiest?
I am happiest when I help a client overcome an obstacle, big or small.
What are your top concerns for the franchise industry in the next year?
The increasing number of franchise brands and competition for prospects.
What are you most optimistic about in the franchise industry in the next year?
Increased interest in entrepreneurship by both franchisors and franchisees.
