After six years in the Air Force and a sixteen year career in&nbsp;law enforcement, Chad Vincent could not pass up an opportunity use the skills he accumulated over the years and open his own <a href="https://signal88.com/get-started/security-management-franchise-opportunity/?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=franchisee-spotlight-chad-vincent-of-signal-88-11047" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Signal 88 Security</a>. Vincent bought the Oklahoma City franchise from an existing owner, and is excited to help the community in ways he was not able to as a neighboring police officer.

A year since he took over ownership, Vincent&rsquo;s location has seen incredible success resulting in new contracts and business. Elaborate on your background: 
I grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma&nbsp;and served in the Air Force for six years part-time. I graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a finance degree and went on to be an accountant for a while. Sixteen years ago I decided to follow my dream of going into law enforcement and left finance to pursue a career with the police department. I am still a full-time police lieutenant in Norman, Oklahoma today.

Now that I am getting closer to retirement, I started looking at different business ownership opportunities where I can be my own boss. I came across Signal 88 Security in Oklahoma City and bought the franchise from an existing owner. We have been up and running for about a year now and have had a great run already! We are still growing, adding new contracts and getting new business.

How has business been for the past year? 
Business has been great. We are the nightly protection for over 20,000 residents in the Oklahoma City area. We respond to issues that the police are not able going to respond to. We&rsquo;ve responded to close to 2,000 calls for service in our community over the past year.

How did you hear about the brand and why did you choose to get involved? 
I really wanted to go into business for myself, but not by myself. I really valued the support behind the franchise group. Between the franchise group and the network of franchise owners, it&rsquo;s a really great place to be. Before I bought the business I talked to the folks in Tulsa, Wichita and the other group in Oklahoma City. The network surrounding me is great. I could have never done this without the franchise group to support me.

Why is Signal 88 a good fit for those with a law enforcement background? 
I recognize there is a growing gap between what communities and citizens need and what police can actually offer. Nowadays, we see violence tendencies growing and police have to be sure to respond to those, and cannot necessarily respond as much as they want to other areas. We see the need for private security, and private security done right. We can take our police training, experience and relationships and wrap that into our service.
