Atlanta natives Scott and Everett Richards are taking their management and operations experience to a new industry by&nbsp;opening <a href="http://www.gymguyzfranchise.com/?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=franchisee-spotlight-scott-and-everett-richards-of-gymguyz-10503" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">GYMGUYZ</a> serving Atlanta.

The mobile personal training concept attracted Scott both personally and professionally as an accessible way for residents to maintain their healthy lifestyles without battling Atlanta traffic. GYMGUYZ brings a qualified trainer, the gym and a customized workout plan to clients&#39; doors.

Scott presented the opportunity to his brother Everett and he jumped on board. They&rsquo;ll begin serving the heart of Atlanta in mid-March.

What were you doing before partnering with GYMGUYZ?

Scott Richards is an Atlanta, Georgia&nbsp;native and prides himself in his&nbsp;ability to create and develop strong relationships, which has been key to his success professionally and personally. He has been married to his wife Juandalyn for 24 years, who is also a native Atlantan. They have two wonderful girls Ashlyn and Zharia.

He earned both a Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in finance and an MBA from Georgia State University. His professional background spans the public, private and non-profit sectors and industries from financial services, healthcare and manufacturing. Most of his career has been spent in the field of technology many of them in management or executive roles. He is known for his emphasis on developing high performing teams and operational excellence within organizations.

He is currently the founder and managing partner of Business Partner Solutions a management and technology strategic planning consulting firm. He is a proud veteran of the Georgia National Guard and served an active duty capacity during the Desert Storm campaign in Kuwait and Iraq. The most rewarding job he has had was working with the Atlanta Paralympic Organizing Committee as part of a team that put the most comprehensive licensing and merchandising campaign in the history of the games and the first Paralympic games to finish fiscally in the black. The inspiration gained from interacting with the people and especially the Paralympic athletes has left a lasting impression on him.

He is a firm believer in volunteerism and considers his time speaking to kids in schools and former time as a volunteer deputy sheriff with the Fulton County Sheriff&rsquo;s Office as most gratifying. He also currently serves as a board member for Camp Kudzu. A nonprofit whose mission is education, empowerment and inspire children with Type 1 diabetes.

Everett, Scott&rsquo;s brother, will also be helping him run the business. Everett&nbsp;has spent most of his career in retail management. Everett worked in management with the Parks and Recreation athletic department for four years and then in retail for a decade, eight of which as a multi-store manager.

How did you learn about GYMGUYZ, and what made you ultimately decide to commit?

Scott: After leaving my job of 16 years and beginning my consulting business, I was actively looking for an entrepreneurial opportunity that I could quickly build equity in. My consulting business is more focused on long-term relationships, so I started looking into franchise opportunities where I could apply my operations and management experience to an established business model to generate more consistent revenue.

I worked with a franchise broker to explore concepts to invest with. I don&rsquo;t have experience in the fitness industry, but as I looked more and more into the structure of the company and how they approached their process in terms of engaging clients and the training process, I thought their approach was different enough to be a great business opportunity.

I am also reaching an age where health has become more of a focus and I want to maintain that lifestyle. The concept spoke to me both professionally and personally and I am excited to be the businesses first client as well.

What were your perceptions of franchising before starting the process?

I started my consulting practice on own with two decades of experience and know the challenges of starting a business on your own. So when I decided I wanted to open a business outside of that industry I wanted to have support in doing that. I have the operations experience, but I wanted a recipe for success concept-wise.
