Franchisee Success: Kitchen Solvers

Brothers Soren, Toby and Rhett Peterson have worked together before, so they know the challenges of being in business with family members.

They also know about hard work. The trio signed on as a franchisee in Salt Lake City with Kitchen Solvers in February — and in July, the brothers had the top sales position among all franchisees. It’s a lightning-fast success tale for the brothers, who enjoy helping people plan and build their dream kitchens.

“It’s time now to maintain that,” says Soren, who wants to build on the huge numbers of July.

The Navy veteran is proud of the success the brothers have achieved and says there were big challenges for him in the beginning. 

“The hardest thing for me was learning how to interact with customers, to show them that we are the best,” he says. “Once I had that down, the next challenge was meeting the demand. We had so much business.”

Figuring out how to sell customers on the business didn’t come naturally to him and he had to learn how to craft a sales pitch to potential customers.

“I was never in any kind of sales position before. Now I know how to explain what I can do for them.”

Kitchen Solvers gave him lots of support as the brothers got going with their franchise.

“They were happy to answer questions, and I could break down a wall with the customers and earn their trust,” Soren says.

The resources at Kitchen Solvers were valuable, he says.

“The staff at Kitchen Solvers has been very supportive. I had lots of advertising questions, for instance, and Kitchen Solvers had great advice about where to put our dollars so we could reach the most people.”

He’s looking ahead and is optimistic about where the franchise can go.

“I’ve been surprised by the success. I never thought we could do so much in such a short time. We have more to do, though.”
