Griswold Home Care, the non-medical, in-home senior care franchise with over 170 units across the U.S., has seen exceptional growth as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to create an increased need for in-home care and the size of the senior population in the U.S. increases. Recently, the Griswold team celebrated this growth, the brand’s 40th anniversary and much more at the Annual Griswold Conference in Nashville on Tuesday, October 25 through Friday, October 28, 2022.

“This conference was an important event for Griswold as we usher in a new era,” said CEO Michael Slupecki. “Not only was it an opportunity to celebrate Griswold's 40-year anniversary, but we were also able to outline our exciting brand evolution plans that will support continued innovation and strengthen the brand for the future.”

During the conference in Nashville, Griswold reached their $140,000 Jean Griswold Foundation Goal, which will provide $100,000 in scholarships to caregivers in 2023. Dr. Jean Griswold started Griswold Home Care in 1982 as the first non-medical home care franchise in the U.S. She had been diagnosed 12 years prior with multiple sclerosis (MS). At age 51, while using a wheelchair, she understood all too well the desire for adults with disabilities, illness and injuries to remain comfortably at home while receiving care.

Today, the Griswold brand has grown to more than 170 territories in 30 states. Griswold offers its franchisees broad support and a proven business model as it focuses on providing home care to the elderly and those with illnesses and disabilities.

This year’s summit was an opportunity to recognize the hard work and dedication of those individual franchise owners behind the Griswold system, Slupecki says.

The 2022 franchisee awards and winners included:

“Our franchise owners are the driving force behind the Griswold brand, and the annual conference is a great place to celebrate them, highlight their entrepreneurial achievements and showcase all they do for the communities they serve,” said Slupecki. “We are proud of our franchisee’s achievements this year, and we look forward to growing and modernizing the brand together.”

Lisa Hall, owner of Griswold Home Care in Plano, TX, said: “It really exceeded my expectations — there were so many opportunities to learn from experienced owners and directors, as well as the amazing personnel at the corporate office. I loved that the sessions were interactive and allowed you to get up and move in between, as opposed to sitting in one spot all day.”

Long-time Griswold Home Care owner Dorothy Griffin in Wilmington, NC, said that this year’s conference was the best one yet. “One of our best conference experiences overall,” she said. “Evening events were great and very memorable, especially the off-site. I also really enjoyed hearing from the Griswolds. The event communicated well the legacy that is unique to our brand. It was a great, well-thought-out time away that left me with a notebook of things to consider and do as well as great memories! The bar has been set high.”

In addition to franchisees, the conference was also a place for company and office staff to learn more about the Griswold culture, gather best practices from franchisees, and see the inner workings of the overall system. “It was excellent, and I always appreciate learning and networking opportunities and the care that goes into hosting these events and talking with our vendors,” said a company staff attendee from Griswold Home Care Tulsa. “And of course, the karaoke was just a highlight!”

As the brand gears up for strategic franchise growth across the country, compassionate, empathetic individuals have the opportunity to join a proven brand, take control of their destiny and give back to the people in their community.

The cost to open a Griswold Home Care franchise ranges from $95,850 to $174,100, including a $49,500 franchise fee. For more information on franchising with Griswold Home Care, visit
