Home Cleaning Franchise MaidPro Brings Lucrative Franchise Opportunities to Multi-Brand Home Services Franchisor Threshold Brands

Franchisee-friendly support, low initial investment costs and a revived demand for home cleanliness make MaidPro a powerful player in the Threshold Brands lineup.

Valued at $1.2 billion in 2022, the residential cleaning service franchise industry has grown, on average, 2.7% every year between 2017 and 2022, and the growth is expected to continue. As the pandemic forced homeowners indoors, they became acutely aware of clutter, mess and germs within their spaces and showed an increased interest in tidying up.

“COVID has forever changed the way people look at what a clean home means,” said Tom Manchester, MaidPro Brand President.

Over one third of people are uncertain whether they are cleaning enough, and just over 30% are unsure if they are cleaning correctly. Because of this, many households are hiring cleaning professionals; over 1.5 million maids and housekeeping cleaners are expected to be employed by 2026.

As MaidPro embraces the support of multi-brand franchisor Threshold Brands, there has never been a better time to invest.

“The business landscape has been changing on a near constant basis over the past few years, and these changes have brought uncertainty and instability for many brands and industries across the country,” said Hagan Kappler, CEO of Threshold Brands.

However, MaidPro’s recent recognition in Entrepreneur’s 43rd annual Franchise 500® reinforces the steadfast nature of the industry.

Why MaidPro?

MaidPro franchisees not only receive robust support through Threshold’s data-driven support model but are able to join a brand with a franchisee-friendly mentality. MaidPro’s proven business model provides franchisees with the guidance and resources they need to succeed while leaving space for the owner’s entrepreneurial heart.

Its “Flexible in Every Way” model encourages franchisees to “make [their] own decisions and be competitive in [their] local market.”

MaidPro occupies a spot in a unique franchise niche — residential cleaning services. Unlike other franchise opportunities, residential cleaning services allow businesses to establish relationships with clients who will require steady, recurring service. The lack of stocked inventory and perishable items reduces the amount of time spent handling overhead concerns, and the true service provided – time – very rarely goes out of demand.

Investing in and Growing a MaidPro Business

The initial required investment to launch operation of a MaidPro business ranges from $94,560-$119,800, including $35,000 to be paid to the franchisor. This investment provides owners access to everything they need to begin, including advertising, equipment and working capital.

R. Scott Sutton, Threshold Brands’ chief growth officer, said, “We have deliberately kept the initial investment for franchise owners as low as possible so that we don’t rule out otherwise qualified candidates simply because they don’t have a large amount of liquidity to invest.”

According to the brand’s FDD, the average annual gross sales gross sales for MaidPro franchisees who own one territory was $489,433 in 2021. For the franchisees who own two territories, the average annual gross sales was $744,893.*

With flexible marketing costs, team sizes and supplies, and royalty fees charged monthly rather than weekly, owners are provided more autonomy in conducting and growing their investment.

Is MaidPro Right for You?

Though there is no single quality that creates a successful MaidPro franchisee, the brand says, some of the qualities that have become noticeably important include a passion for people, an understanding of the importance of technology, an open mind and a fearless approach to accounting.

Michelle Spitzer, a MaidPro franchise owner, is a great example of the types of franchisees that do well with MaidPro. Spitzer converted her small cleaning business into a MaidPro franchise 27 years ago and continues to see success.

“I didn’t have to reinvent the wheel,” she said. “The MaidPro operating system helps franchise owners manage not only their client base but also their employee base, quality control, accounts receivable and invoicing. MaidPro has made a serious investment in great operating software and has developed a training plan that works. Trust the process and lean on the support that is provided to you.”

While MaidPro encourages business owners to make their own decisions and utilize their knowledge of the local terrain, it remains important that franchisees recognize the proven business plan they have been provided and take advantage of support in ways they feel necessary.

With the backing of Threshold Brands and continued demand for home cleaning services, MaidPro is preparing for widespread expansion in markets across the country, including Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston, Charlotte and Atlanta.
