Millions of homeowners turn to residential cleaning companies each year to tackle their clutter and grime. But with approximately 875,000 cleaning businesses across the U.S., the industry has become extremely fragmented, and the quality of service varies drastically across companies, resulting in low customer loyalty.

Looking to redefine the industry with a professional and consistent approach, Home Clean Heroes was launched by Buzz Franchise Brands in 2017. The concept is different because it’s committed to a customer-first approach, offering personalized services at an affordable price.

“Buzz Franchise Brands has created a culture centered around fun, and we wanted to ensure we carried that into our branding for Home Clean Heroes,” said CEO of Buzz Franchise Brands, Kevin Wilson. “We call our cleaners ‘heroes’ because they are professional and are ultimately improving the quality of someone else’s life.”

This is the third concept for Buzz Franchise Brands, parent company of pool cleaning and maintenance franchise Pool Scouts and mosquito control franchise Mosquito Joe. Both concepts have been growing rapidly since their launch, which the company attributes to passionate franchisees, sterling reputations and strong customer referrals.

“We provide first class service to our customers, and because of that commitment, we’ve learned that referrals are the key to our success,” said Wilson. “We have an opportunity to capitalize on the industry’s market share by providing better service than any of our competitors using some of the same proven systems we’ve used with our other concepts.”

The global cleaning services market is projected to reach $74,299 million by 2022, according to a forecast by Allied Market Research. North America is currently paving the way, accounting for the largest revenue, and is projected to be one of the fastest growing segments over the next four years, strengthening Home Clean Heroes opportunity for rapid nationwide development.

The first Home Clean Heroes location opened in May of 2017 in Buzz Franchise Brands’ home market of Virginia Beach. Since then, the brand has serviced over 800 customers across Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Chesapeake and Suffolk, and has grown from just one van to eight, with 17 cleaning specialists. Now, Home Clean Heroes is looking to welcome its first franchisees to the system.

Walter Ewell, Vice President of Franchise Development for Home Clean Heroes, said conversions are a huge opportunity for the brand as they look to expand into new states. In order to spark this growth, the brand is offering existing cleaning businesses a 50% discount off the franchise fee for converting.

“While the cleaning industry is extremely lucrative, some independently run businesses reach a certain point where they have trouble acquiring new customers. That’s where we’re different,” said Ewell. “We offer a proven system for customer acquisition and retention to help our franchisees get past that flat line stage.”

Similar to the growth models of both Mosquito Joe and Pool Scouts, Home Clean Heroes will begin franchising with competitive pricing, with a total initial all-in cost between $78,295 to $132,588. With the support of an established parent company, a recurring revenue model and guidance from a legacy leadership team, Home Clean Heroes is positioned to be a competitive force in the residential cleaning space.

“We’re looking for strong operators to join our system who are comfortable following the process we’ve put in place in order to drive their success,” said Ewell. “We anticipate bringing on as many as five owners before year’s end and rapid growth in 2019.”
