With approximately 875,000 cleaning businesses across the U.S., residential cleaning is a $6 billion industry that is projected to grow by 2% annually through 2022. Seeking a piece of the pie, Buzz Franchise Brands recently launched its newest concept Home Clean Heroes, a residential cleaning company focused on bringing professional and convenient cleaning services to the masses.

Since opening its first location in Southern Hampton Roads on May 8, 2017, the brand has already serviced over 800 customers across Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Chesapeake and Suffolk, and has grown from one van to eight to support 17 cleaning specialists.

Home Clean Heroes has made its mark by setting a new standard for the industry, with core values like trust, consistency, flexibility and convenience. And these values have clearly resonated with customers locally, helping the brand earn the Overall Gold in Coastal Virginia Magazine Best of Readers’ Choice Award.

“We know that residential home cleaning is a fragmented industry, and there hasn’t been a new player in the space for a long time,” said Home Clean Heroes Director of Marketing, Kathy Turley. “When you look at the industry as a whole, the average consumer believes that home cleaning services are unprofessional. By leveraging our parent company, Buzz Franchise Brands who has built a reputation for having unmatched customer service, we know we have the opportunity to shake things up in this space.”

Now, looking to take its successful service outside of the brand’s home state of Virginia, Home Clean Heroes is seeking its first qualified operators in North Carolina. While the state has become oversaturated with other home cleaning concepts and independent mom and pop operators, the brand sees this as a great opportunity for conversion. By offering existing cleaning businesses a 50% discount off the franchise fee for converting, Home Clean Heroes is confident this will be a valuable selling point in North Carolina.

“While the cleaning industry is extremely lucrative, some independently run businesses reach a certain point where they have trouble acquiring new customers. That’s where we’re different,” said VP of Franchise Development, Walter Ewell. “We offer a proven system for customer acquisition and retention to help our franchisees get past that flat line stage.”

Buzz Franchise Brands has also seen success building out their other concepts in the area and believes they have the opportunity to mimic this success once again.

“North Carolina is traditionally really receptive to franchise concepts and has an extremely tight-knit community, meaning word of mouth travels fast. By capitalizing on the reputation we’ve already built in the state with Pool Scouts, and historically with our former brand, Mosquito Joe, we are in a great position to grow,” said Ewell.

There are currently 20 territories available for Home Clean Heroes in the market, with major cities like Winston Salem, Durham, Raleigh, Greensboro and Charlotte representing 15 of them. And with the corporate team located in a neighboring state, Virginia, Ewell feels confident that they will be able to sustain rapid growth.

“We offer our franchisees ongoing support, meaning when a location opens in a new state, we’re providing them with resources that will help make them successful,” said Turley. “The reason that so many people have turned to Buzz Franchise Brands’ sister concepts is that they offer a proven model for success and continuous training. The peace of mind given to franchisees knowing that there is a team supporting them behind the scenes as they navigate their new business is invaluable.”

Home Clean Heroes offers a relatively low startup cost, with an estimated initial investment of $78,295 to $132,588. The brand is also a part of VetFran, a program that offers financial incentives to veterans to encourage them to join a growing system. They also offer incentives to current or former full-time law enforcement or firefighters through the Community Heroes program.
