How Home Clean Heroes Utilizes Technology for Operational Efficiency
The state-of-the-art operating system and addition of GPS to all vehicles work to improve the customer experience by streamlining operations and reducing labor costs.
Home Clean Heroes isn’t just another home service brand—it’s a burgeoning franchise positioned for huge growth potential in a booming industry. Thanks to Home Clean Heroes’ strategic implementation of proprietary technology, the brand is in a position for franchisees to sweep the competition.
Owned by parent company Buzz Franchise Brands, Home Clean Heroes is the newest brand among three successful franchises, including British Swim School and Pool Scouts. Consumers today are busy, and Home Clean Heroes aims to simplify household upkeep in the highly competitive industry, offering consumers a suite of highly customizable and convenient services. One of the ways that the brand accomplishes this is through its use of technology, including a three-way-texting system and in-vehicle GPS. President of Home Clean Heroes Joe Delatte describes how the brand is revolutionizing the industry.
Field Management Software
Home Clean Heroes’ main goal is to establish a dialogue with its customers. One of the ways it opens that dialogue is through an easy-to-use, smartphone-accessible field management software. “This program is the backbone of our operating system,” said Delatte. “It is a portal that franchisees use to schedule, route, bill, track and manage all of their customer data, conveniently all in one place.”
Through this program, Home Clean Heroes customers are able to directly correspond with both the cleaning team and the Home Clean Heroes corporate team. “It works like a group text,” said Delatte. “The day before and the day of the cleaning, we push a text to the customer, including when a team is the way to their house. In turn, the customer can respond in real time. The system also calculates where the team is, and provides the customer with an ETA.”
The three-way texting system means no more last-minute mishaps between cleaning teams and customers. “The customer can say something like, ‘By the way, I left my dog in the house. Can you please let him out?’” said Delatte. “That message is then seen by the cleaning team and the office manager.”
But why use an app for something that can be done over text? Because it protects the privacy of both the cleaning specialists and the customer. “The communication is all happening within the customer account record, which is archived with the customer’s account. Every time a cleaning specialist sees that customer, they will have access to a record of previous correspondences,” said Delatte, who indicated that prior messages could be very informative and pertinent to the job they are completing that day.
In-Vehicle GPS
“One of the most important things that we do is manage the cleaning time of our specialists,” said Delatte. “From a franchisee's perspective, you want to make sure your staff are working in a way that generates revenue, and having an efficient route is critical to that process. By using GPS tracking, we can plan and track how long our routes take, ultimately determining the most efficient routes possible for our cleaning specialists.”
Home Clean Heroes is already seeing the payoff from implementing this system. The brand has saved $300,000 in labor costs alone.
Data Tracking
“The way we invest in technology is critical for setting Home Clean Heroes apart in the industry,” said Delatte. “For most people starting their own business alone, services like the ones that Home Clean Heroes provides likely wouldn’t be possible from day one of operation. We spend our time and energy finding the most efficient systems, and that in turn saves an immense amount of time and money for franchisees.”
To Delatte, the visibility into the business component is crucial, and is a unique offering to franchisees in the home services industry. “Franchisees are able to see profit margins down to the house level. That kind of technology and data tracking is absolutely essential to running a successful business.”
With Home Clean Heroes, no one reaps the rewards of these systems as much as the customers themselves. “For a customer, we want to simplify and personalize it as much as we can, because that’s how a customer wants to relate to a company,” said Delatte. The home is a highly personal space, and with Home Clean Heroes, the customer’s home is in good hands.
