However, the franchise has also given back, in a way, by offering a platform that allows passionate entrepreneurs to build something truly meaningful that can benefit them over time.Last year, HomeTeam saw nine transfers of existing franchises. While some amount of transfer is natural in any franchise system, HomeTeam’s movement is largely attributed to franchisees who have built and grown a business and are ready to take a step back, often transitioning into retirement.“Any healthy franchise system will have franchisees that build a business that they can sell to someone else in the future,” said Long. “Last year, we had a franchisee sell their business after 28 years and 40,000 inspections. They were an owner with us for 28 of our 30 years of franchising, and they decided to retire. Now, the new owner will take that territory to the next level.”HomeTeam also welcomed 10 new franchises to the system in 2023, creating a strong foundation as the system plans to ramp up development this year.With a goal of awarding 15 new franchises this year, thanks to a strengthening real estate market, HomeTeam is looking at development in Arizona, California, Idaho, Louisiana, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Texas and Utah, as well as many other states.“Our interest in these markets is twofold.
