Then, they came across <a href="https://www.scoopsoldiers.com/franchise/franchise-support?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=how-three-scoop-soldiers-franchisees-are-tapping-into-increased-demand-for-home-services-in-texas-2717320" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Scoop Soldiers</a>, which offers franchisees a low-cost investment and a high-margin opportunity, using a proven business model that can be done by the franchisee themselves or with employees they bring onboard.&nbsp;Today, they own three Scoop Soldiers territories in Texas in Prosper, McKinney and Frisco.&nbsp;Ron said the decision to go into the scooping business came after years in the lawn care business.&nbsp;“I had already known <a href="https://www.linkedin.com/in/joshcahill/?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=how-three-scoop-soldiers-franchisees-are-tapping-into-increased-demand-for-home-services-in-texas-2717320" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Josh Cahill</a> (President and Co-Founder of Scoop Soldiers) and <a href="https://www.linkedin.com/in/ejmccoy/?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=how-three-scoop-soldiers-franchisees-are-tapping-into-increased-demand-for-home-services-in-texas-2717320" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">EJ McCoy</a> (CEO at Scoop Soldiers) through the lawn care business and already built business relationships with them,” said Ron. “Over the years, they had been thinking about poop scooping as a business. The overhead is a lot less, you can work from home and it provides good margins.”Amaroufi said he was intrigued by the thought of joining Scoop Soldiers because of the way it was introduced to him — almost as if divine intervention played a role in it.“I had just heard about the industry before Ron walked in to ask him his views about the pet waste business,” explained Amaroufi. “The timing was strange so I had to check it out, and after hearing Ron give his views, I thought it might be something that I’m really interested in. So from there, I started looking at the numbers and potential market growth and decided to go for it.”&nbsp;As a self-proclaimed numbers guy, Amaroufi felt like the value franchisees get for the fee at Scoop Soldiers is equivalent to what business owners get out of it.&nbsp;“They do a lot of the work for you,” he said. “You pretty much just need to figure out how to deliver the services.”&nbsp;Ron agreed with Amaroufi’s sentiments in the way that working with Scoop Soldiers feels like a partnership.“What Scoop Soldiers provides for franchisees is well worth the cost of the fee,” he added.&nbsp;<h4>Benefitting a Service-Driven World</h4>The Battaglias and Amaroufis view Scoop Soldiers and its offerings as an expansion of the service industry, a sector of business that doesn’t boom or bust and maintains a steady trajectory. When the COVID pandemic kept everyone out of the office and working from home, priorities changed. People were in search of a new way to handle tasks that they otherwise had time to accomplish. Outsourcing became the new normal, and Scoop Soldiers were able to swoop in and take one more thing off the hands of customers.&nbsp;Because the world is in a place where many services are outsourced, Ron said he saw Scoop Soldiers as another way that he could help pet owners take care of one more thing on their chore list with their already limited time. He recalled when people changed their own oil or mowed their own lawns, and how today many people look to outside sources to perform those services because of a much busier lifestyle.&nbsp;“Everyone is working from home for the most part, and people are stressed,” said Ron. “The pet scooping business is mirroring the lawn care world. And since more people are getting pets, they’re also realizing that they can take the task of scooping off their long to-do list.”&nbsp;“Good times in the service industry are really good, and even in the bad times, business is still good,” said Ron.Even in a post-COVID world, the service industry hasn’t seen a wavering in demand, despite price increases. Even with price increases, though, Ron said that the cash flow for their Scoop Soldiers locations has grown.Overall, the trio is glad they went into business with Scoop Soldiers. “They offer two ways to go into the business — as an owner-operator business, or you can purchase a corporate-owned business,” said Amaroufi. “You can start small-scale or start large scale.”&nbsp;The total cost to invest in Scoop Soldiers ranges from $43,800 to $104,050 per territory.
