Whether you’re concerned about financing or marketing gimmicks, we’ve got the answers you’re looking for

The decision to invest in a franchise is a big one. Even though only one or two people will be the primary business owners and operators, the impacts of entrepreneurship ripple out to spouses, family, friends and more.
JDog Brands, the franchisor that backs both JDog Junk Removal & Hauling and JDog Carpet Cleaning & Floor Care, is committed to supporting Veterans after their separation from the military by providing affordable, accessible entrepreneurship opportunities. Part of this accessibility includes Veterans having access to all of the information they need to make an informed decision. Here are some of the most frequently asked questions about franchising with JDog Brands.
Does JDog really care about the Veteran community, or is that just a marketing gimmick?
JDog was founded by a Veteran for Veterans! In order to franchise with JDog, you must be a Veteran or Military family, and franchise owners are strongly encouraged to hire Veterans for other staff positions as well.
JDog continually reaches beyond its mission of decreasing unemployment within the Veteran community to support and partner with larger Veteran-centric organizations like Irreverent Warriors and Soldiers’ Angels.
Does JDog have a good reputation? Why do customers choose JDog?
JDog Brands has already established a strong reputation by always operating with respect, integrity and trust. Customers know that when they hire JDog, the only work they’ll have to do is point to what they need done.
JDog owners and employees do great work, treating each job and customer with care and intention, and customers know this. Thanks to the existing reputation, new franchise owners are able to enter their markets and maintain a great reputation rather than starting from scratch.
Do I need to have prior experience with junk removal or carpet cleaning?
Absolutely not. JDog Brands has established a robust training and support program to ensure franchisees have the resources they need to succeed. Just recently, the brand unveiled a new training location that includes multiple surfaces for hands-on carpet cleaning and floor care practice, desks for classroom-style instruction and new technology that allows franchisees and employees to join refresher courses remotely. JDog embraces a sequence of training, assessment and approval to complete the job that is familiar to many service members.
“James, who is our VP of Training and Development, has really set up a lot of the classes and the structure of the week similar to what you might find in a military school,” explained Kevin Kopa, president of JDog Brands. “Being in the military, you have your basic training or recruit training or whatever it might be called for your respective branch, then you go to a number of specialty schools throughout your career.”
How much does it cost?
The initial investment required to begin operating a JDog Carpet Cleaning & Floor Care business ranges from $37,909 to $169,947, and the initial investment to begin operating a JDog Junk Removal & Hauling business is between $30,000 and $110,000.
What kind of support is available through JDog?
Support from the corporate JDog team comes from many directions. JDog Brands has a JDog Spouses group to support the families of business owners, discuss best practices and development, and provide guidance and support from other people with similar experiences.
The JDog Brands leadership team is composed of excellent individuals who live by the values of respect, integrity and trust, and all bring their skills to the table to support franchisees.
From a logistical standpoint, JDog Brands provides franchisees the resources and support they need through training, marketing materials, a website, mentorship and more.
How much control do I have over my business and schedule?
A common saying about the franchise industry is that it allows you to be in business for yourself but not by yourself. The JDog team is ready to support franchise owners’ success, but they do not micromanage franchisees. Ultimately, you are in full control of when you work and who you hire.
