Heather Davis first tried Layne’s Chicken Fingers as an upperclassman at Texas A&M University. The restaurant quickly became one of her favorites, and even after moving to North Texas with her family, she would stop by the restaurant anytime she was near College Station. Now having her favorite chicken fingers aren’t too far of a drive for Heather because she and her husband, Scott Davis, opened their first of six Layne’s Chicken Fingers in Denton near the University of North Texas.

“We just felt like it really brought back the origin of the Layne’s that opened in College Station, basically across the street from Texas A&M,” Scott said. “We just loved the location and felt like with all of the activity and so forth with the restaurants and bars around, and campus literally being across the street, that we can be very successful, and that’s what brought us up there.”

As the couple plans to open the other five Layne’s Chicken Fingers, they will focus on finding the perfect locations. They are eyeing locations in Bedford and Arlington and even considering opening a second Denton location in the future. Scott and Heather are excited to grow with one of their favorite restaurants and see what the future holds for them as business owners.
