The COVID-19 pandemic has created a challenging scenario for parents across the country; whether working from home, continuing to engage in essential work, or getting back into the office has become necessary, working parents have needed support as they balance work and family responsibilities. Now, as more and more parents begin to return to the office, child care is becoming even more important. That’s why Lightbridge Academy has enhanced its procedures to ensure parents feel safe bringing their children to the early education and child care center.

When the pandemic hit, Lightbridge Academy initiated the Lightbridge Promise, a program that reinforces the company’s top priority to ensure the health and safety of all of those in its Circle of Care. One of the program’s new solutions was to bring in an air purification and filtration system — the same system used in the NYC subway system —  that uses an advanced oxidation process to continuously purify air and surfaces. Lightbridge Academy has also enhanced protocols to ensure the health and safety of children and staff members at its centers.

According to Lightbridge Academy President Gigi Schweikert, the heightened protocols have helped parents feel confident to bring their children into their learning centers. She hopes their centers can provide a much-needed relief as the Solution for Working Parents® during these difficult times by providing a safe environment.

"We are laser-focused on helping our families get through this difficult time together,” said Scheikert. “We know it is an honor to provide child care, and we do not take our responsibility lightly. When parents trust us with their children, we must do our best to ensure the safest and healthiest centers."

Kristen McCarthy, parent and Lightbridge Academy client in Philadelphia, said that Lightbridge Academy has done everything to ensure she feels safe bringing her son, Oliver, there. COVID-19 hit just when she was looking for a new daycare center closer to home, but after meeting with Lightbridge Academy’s team, she felt assured that her son would be in excellent care in a healthy environment.

“This whole past year has been a new experience with us as new parents,” said McCarthy. “As you can imagine, parenting is a new experience from start to finish, but doing so amid a pandemic is a whole different challenge. This all hit as well when we were trying to change daycares, but Lightbridge did everything to ensure we felt safe bringing Oliver. We live ten minutes away from Lightbridge, and, while we’re still working from home, we can be so close in case of an emergency. They were wonderful and met with us before the building of the center was even complete. We love the teachers who are there, and we’ve made a few friends within the daycare. We couldn’t be happier with the community.”

For Founder and CEO Guy Falzarano, the most important thing their centers can do right now is help parents feel confident returning to the office. With so much going on right now, he says, child care should be an area where they know they are receiving top-tier and safe service.

"Since founding the brand, we have always felt strongly about setting out to provide the best early education and child care experience on the market,” said Falzarano. “Now, this is a clear evolution of that goal. Our priority has always been to do our best to protect the children who come into our centers, and we certainly are doing everything within our capabilities to live out that promise.”
