Katerina Kearney grew up in South Jersey and earned a master&rsquo;s degree in education before diving into a career in special education. Throughout the years, Kearney has worked with hundreds of kids who require a structured curriculum and extra attention in order to succeed, teaching her the importance of a multi-faceted approach to childcare. Now, Katerina and her husband, Mike, are gearing up to open their first <a href="https://lightbridgeacademyfranchise.com/?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=lightbridge-academy-finishes-a-strong-2017-plans-to-continue-expanding-throughout-its-20th-anniversary-year-2705264" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Lightbridge Academy</a> in Millburn, New Jersey.

&ldquo;As we get closer to the opening date, it&rsquo;s an exciting feeling to be able to fill the need in Millburn with a quality early childhood education program,&rdquo; says Kearney. &ldquo;We&rsquo;re there for working parents with extended hours and offer ongoing communication to parents throughout the day with camera access and updates on their child&rsquo;s day. In addition to the Kearney&rsquo;s, Virginia Beach couple, Neil and Jane Yaeger are also slated to open their first Lightbridge Academy this year in Virginia Beach, marking the first state location in Virginia for the early educational franchise. Similar to Katerina, Jane was a teacher for more than 15 years and mixed with Neil&rsquo;s corporate business experience, the couple felt Lightbridge Academy was a perfect fit to pursue their dreams of heading into entrepreneurship.

This year marks the 20th year of success for Lightbridge, which was founded by Guy and Julia Falzarano in 1997 in Iselin, New Jersey. Today, the company has nearly 30 open centers and serves more than 3,500 children. Looking back, 2017 has been an unparalleled year for growth, as it ends the year at 95 franchise units and anticipates to hit the 100 franchise unit mark in 2018. This year, the New Jersey-based company is positioned for rapid growth with plans to open new centers throughout the mid-Atlantic region and states in which it recently expanded into, including Florida, North Carolina and Ohio.
