IDEA Lab Kids, the innovative education-based franchise focused on STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) learning, has launched an updated version of its STEAM On Demand platform, designed to better serve the needs of larger school districts. The new platform introduces several key features, including enhanced user access controls, and the addition of Spanish-language video content, making it more versatile and accessible than ever before.

The update was primarily driven by the need to accommodate the growing demands of larger school districts.

“What started the update was the need to be able to scale the platform to serve larger districts,” said Devina Bhojwani, president and co-owner of IDEA Lab Kids. “One of the things that we’ve done with our platform is we’re a lot more efficient now. We can have up to 50,000 users using the platform simultaneously, which helps us serve the needs of larger districts.”

With contracts often covering entire districts, which may include multiple schools, the ability to support a vast number of users without compromising performance is crucial. According to Bhojwani, the average elementary school site has about 20 to 30 teachers and the platform’s new capacity ensures that even the largest districts can seamlessly integrate and manage their educational resources.

Multilingual Support for Greater Accessibility

In a move towards greater inclusivity, the platform now includes bilingual video content. This feature is particularly valuable for dual-language schools and those with a significant number of minority students.

“We also have the videos now in English and Spanish, which is another big feature that schools and districts are really appreciating," Bhojwani said. “The teacher has the flexibility to toggle between playing it in English or playing it in Spanish, whichever language they choose. The message of making it equitable and accessible for everybody is huge for us as an organization.”

With these updates, IDEA Lab Kids continues to lead the way in innovative educational solutions, ensuring that schools and districts have the tools they need to provide high-quality STEAM education to all students.

Enhanced Role-Based Access Control

In addition to supporting more users, the updated platform introduces role-based access controls, offering administrators greater oversight and control.

“It makes it a lot more transparent for the admins,” said Bhojwani. “They have access to see what all the users are doing, when they last logged in, how many minutes they spent on the platform — there’s a lot more accountability and transparency.”

This level of detailed reporting and control empowers administrators to manage their accounts more effectively, ensuring that the platform is used to its fullest potential across the district.

Educational Tools

IDEA Lab Kids has also embraced digital intelligence to enhance the platform’s educational offerings. We have created new assessments, including fill-in-the-blank exercises, crossword searches and formative quizzes.

“All of those were created to give the facilitator expansion activities and lessons they can do with the students,” said Bhojwani.

With these updates, IDEA Lab Kids continues to lead the way in innovative educational solutions, ensuring that schools and districts have the tools they need to provide high-quality STEAM education to all students.

The franchise fee of $35,500 provides an assigned territory for establishing a location and for offering IDEA Lab On-the-Go?. The startup costs for an IDEA Lab Kids franchise can range from $163,000 to $465,000. To learn more about franchising with IDEA Lab Kids, visit https://1851franchise.com/lyricoslearning/info.
