Memphis Business Journal: Australian Hose Replacement Company Targets Memphis for Growth
Pirtek is planning a U.S. expansion and is identifying Memphis as a key growth market.
Pirtek, an Australian hydraulic and pneumatic hose replacement company, is planning to expand the company’s footprint in Memphis.
Pirtek offers on-site 24/7 service to shipping, manufacturing and construction companies to help reduce downtime in the event of a failed hose. Pirtek is now focusing on cities with a population of at least 500,000. In a city like Memphis, with a population of around 1.3 million, there are many potential customers and opportunities for franchises.
“The key for us is we know Memphis is a great market, but we must find a great franchise partner first,” Gwyn O’Kane, vice president of franchise development, told the Memphis Business Journal.
The hydraulic hose franchise currently has 98 locations in total with 52 in the United States.
The company’s founding family recently completed a majority buyout for majority control of the American arm of the company. This buyout will allow U.S. franchises to experience the same benefits, resources and streamlined operations of the Australian company.
