Orangetheory® Franchisees Diversify Portfolio with Addition of an Amazing Lash Studio location

Cameron Humpheries and Vaughn McClelland have been friends for years, and since 2017, they've also been business partners. That year, the duo purchased their first Orangetheory Fitness® franchise. Since then, they've opened three successful gyms in New Jersey with the fitness franchise.

This year, Cameron and McClelland decided it was time to start diversifying their growing portfolio, so they reached out to other franchisees in the Orangetheory system for ideas. They knew they wanted to stay in a similar customer profile category that had a majority female customer base. Through their Orangetheory franchise peers, they learned about the Amazing Lash Studio® beauty concept.  . Humpheries and McClelland were instantly intrigued.

“One of our fellow Orangetheory franchisees who does build outs for the brand told me about the Amazing Lash Studio brand,  and after looking into it we found that it’s a phenomenal business to get into,” Humpheries said. “Its customer relationship model is similar to that of Orangetheory Fitness in that it is a membership-based model with a recurring revenue stream, so we felt very comfortable moving forward in the discovery process.”

After going through the brand’s discovery process and signing a deal to open one location, Humpheries and McClelland are preparing to open their new franchise  in southern New Jersey. They are in the process of finalizing an exact location.

“We have learned a lot from being Orangetheory franchise operators. As a brand, they do so many things well,” Humpheries said. “That’s why when we started researching our next franchise investment, we wanted to diversify with a brand that took a similar approach to its customers and its franchise growth. Once we attended Amazing Lash Studio’s Meet the Team Day, we were hooked.”

McClelland and Humpheries also researched the brand from a consumer standpoint thanks to McClelland’s wife, Danielle, who experienced eyelash extension services at an  Amazing Lash Studio location  as a customer prior to their signing a franchise agreement.

“We did our research from a numbers and logistics standpoint, but we also made sure we saw the value in the service,” Humpheries said. “We asked Danielle to try it out and get eyelash extension services. She loved it. Through her experience, we could definitely see the value future customers will find.”

Founded in 2010 the Amazing Lash Studio brand has more than 240 locations open in 23 states. The brand is a standout in the beauty industry thanks to its eyelash extension services and the use of private rooms.

McClelland and Humpheries are thrilled they’re diversifying their franchise portfolio with the Amazing Lash Studio brand. They both praised the brand’s corporate team and the support they’ve received.

“The Amazing Lash Studio leadership team is really organized and the brand has a lot of potential for growth, which is the biggest thing that Vaughn and I look for in a business before investing,” Humpheries said. “Vaughn and I are big on growth, and we can’t wait to get started.”
