Sylvan Learning* Center, the leading provider of personal learning for students in grades K-12, has plans to expand in Orlando, Florida. The brand is looking to add two additional locations within the year.

According to Franchise Development Director Georgia Paulding, the new locations could be satellite sites where the franchisees would partner with local schools, libraries or learning centers to offer services in their locations. This expansion would collectively create about 30 jobs including part-time tutors, full-time center directors and directors of education.

"It's a career that becomes a big part of your life, so we work very hard to find the right fit,” Paulding told the Orlando Business Journal. “We want to make sure they will bring quality services and work with the community.”

All Sylvan locations are beginning to offer new STEM-focused programs, which Paulding said has been met with high demand. In this program, students are able to study engineering, coding and robotics, possibly resulting in them pursuing those fields as careers.
