Dallas Business Journal: Bakery chain plans to add up to 30 locations in North Texas
Paris Baguette’s Chief Development Officer Mark Mele talks with the Dallas Business Journal about how the bakery cafe plans to add new locations to the Dallas Fort Worth market.
In a recent interview with the Dallas Business Journal, Mark Mele, Chief Development Officer of Paris Baguette, discussed how the bakery cafe franchise could open 25 to 30 North Texas locations over the next several years. According to Mele, the international brand could open three stores in 2021 and four in 2022 in the Dallas Fort Worth market. They’re eyeing communities like Frisco, McKinney, Denton, Plano and Grand Prairie because the company performs well in suburbs around major cities. Paris Baguette currently has one unit in Lewisville, Texas, located inside Asian grocery store, H Mart, and that spot has performed well, said Mele.
“When you think of other bakery concepts, there are two or three that are still out there, but not really mainstream. That's our goal is to take us mainstream,” Mele said. “The biggest key differentiation point for us is the fact that we are baking, and we're staying true to really who we've been.”
Most of the Paris Baguette’s U.S. locations are franchise-owned, though the company centrally owns about one-third of its total stores in the country. Mele said the goal is to build out 1,000 stores in the next 10 years or less.
