MOONACHIE, N.J. — Paris Baguette, a top-ranked global bakery café franchise and the No. 1 bakery café in Entrepreneur’s Franchise 500® for six consecutive years, continued to build momentum across Canada in the third quarter of 2026, awarding four new franchise agreements, signing three leases and advancing several cafés toward opening. The global bakery café franchise is continuing to bring its neighbourhood bakery café experience to more communities across the country.
Earlier this year, Paris Baguette celebrated six consecutive years of positive comparable sales and traffic growth. That continued momentum, paired with ongoing franchise development and real estate activity, is helping position the brand for continued growth in the Canadian market.
In the third quarter alone, Paris Baguette awarded four new franchise agreements and signed three new leases in Canada. The newly signed leases reflect key developments across Ontario, with cafés planned to open in mid-2027 at 9100 Jane Street in Vaughan, 1355 Kingston Road in Ajax, and 8310 Woodbine Avenue in Markham.
“We believe the neighbourhood bakery café can be so much more than a place to grab a coffee or pastry. It can be a place where people connect, gather and feel at home,” said CEO Darren Tipton. “That vision is resonating with franchisees and communities across Canada, and we’re excited to continue bringing the warmth, hospitality and everyday joy of Paris Baguette to more neighbourhoods.”
In addition to the new agreements and leases, Paris Baguette continues to advance a strong Canadian development pipeline, with cafés at multiple stages of construction and development. Upcoming locations include:
- Oakville, Ontario, currently under construction with a projected opening in November 2026.
- Meadowvale West, Ontario, currently under construction with a projected opening in December 2026.
- Halifax, Nova Scotia, projected to open in February 2027.
- Niagara Falls, Ontario, projected to open in March 2027.
- Yorkdale, Ontario, projected to open in January 2028.
Paris Baguette is also continuing to build relationships within the Canadian franchise community. Sage Kriss, director of real estate, represented the brand at the International Franchise Expo in Toronto, connecting with franchise professionals and prospective partners as the brand continues to expand its Canadian footprint.
“Toronto was a great opportunity to connect with the local franchise community and see firsthand the interest in Paris Baguette,” Kriss said. “There is strong enthusiasm for our neighbourhood bakery café concept, and we’re excited about the opportunity to continue growing with the right franchise partners in communities across Canada.”
Paris Baguette continues to make significant strides toward its goal of 1,000 cafés across North America, with 337 cafés currently open and another 557 in active development. Canada remains an important part of that growth, as the brand brings freshly baked pastries, handcrafted coffee and tea beverages, sandwiches, salads and signature cakes to more communities across the country.
