Pool Scouts, a Virginia Beach-based pool maintenance franchise, was featured in The Virginian-Pilot for donating a percentage of every cleaning service in the month of May to Hope Floats Foundation, a nonprofit organization that partners with swim schools to provide swimming lesson scholarships for children living in poverty. Twelve of Pool Scouts’ franchisees raised $16,630, the equivalent of 800 swimming lessons.

“The franchisees can see the effects at a local level of the money that they’re giving,” Pool Scouts President Michael Wagner said. “We’re looking forward to doing a lot more next year with a lot more franchisees.”
