Fraternity brothers at the University of Florida, Matt Friedman and Adam Scott hadn’t planned on becoming the founders of Wing Zone a global franchise brand with more than 40 locations in the U.S. and more than 25 overseas. But noticing an opportunity in the lack of quick-serve wing options in their college town, the two started whipping up wings in the fraternity kitchen.

They opened their first official store-front in 1993 and after that the brand took off.

“We launched our franchise program in 1999, and that was huge for us,” the duo told QSR. “Being able to help others be successful is truly a rewarding experience and perhaps the best part about what we do.”

Friedman and Scott live by the Wing Zone motto of “motivate and educate,” and believe the key to a successful business is remaining passionate about it and staying involved on a daily basis.
