QSR: Philly Pretzel Factory Appoints First Chief Development Officer

Booming pretzel chain Philly Pretzel Factory has created the role of chief development officer specifically for Tom Monaghan, whose job will be to expand the growing brand both throughout the U.S. and internationally.

“He has literally spent his entire life in franchising,” Dan DiZio, CEO and co-founder of Philly Pretzel Factory, was quoted as saying. “He grew up the son of a franchisee and spent the last 25 years working for four other national franchise brands in various capacities, from operations and marketing to franchise development and executive leadership.”

Meanwhile, Monaghan said his new role encompasses no less than “world domination” for the brand.

“My job is to help the brand significantly grow the number of outlets domestically in the short term and globally in the long term,” he said.
