Franchisee Spotlight: Wendi Rabatin of Right at Home
After witnessing her grandmother struggle to maintain her independence, Wendi Rabatin was inspired to partner with Right at Home.

Wendi Rabatin has worked with her father, Steve Spainhower, for 20 years at his dental practice. Now that Dr. Spainhower is retiring, Wendi has enlisted his help to follow in his entrepreneurial footsteps by opening her own business – this time in home care for seniors and disabled adults.
Their Right at Home office opened in November 2016 in Bozeman. The franchise, a leading in-home care provider, will service a wide territory including Gallatin Valley and the surrounding areas.
Wendi was inspired to open a Right at Home after witnessing her grandmother and many of the senior patients in the dental practice slowly losing their independence over the years and struggling with coordination of daily activities. Surely there was a way to help. Right at Home was the answer.
Elaborate on your background.
I spent many years working in my father’s dental practice handling office management, and I have a degree in small business management, so the transition felt natural. Right at Home has an excellent franchise model that I can utilize for my business.
I’m very instinctual; after hearing about Right at Home in June, I fell in love with the company’s culture and what it represents. I’ve learned that they form an understanding family setting with respect toward each other.
How did you hear about the brand and why did you choose to get involved?
My dad always filled his office with industry magazines and read great things about Right at Home. I had no idea that the home care industry was even present in Bozeman, but once I became familiar with the concept, it seemed like a perfect transition. Over the years I watched patients get older, begin to lose their independence, and struggle with the coordination of basic activities.
How do you plan to serve the community with your new business?
Many people start off with compassion and the desire to help, but after a while they lose the passion that they had in the beginning. When the business seems to be too much, it leads to patients being unhappy and without personal care. I’m hoping to bring that compassion back.
What’s next for you and your business?
I plan on servicing a large territory, and once we get situated in the Gallatin Valley, we will spread into the surrounding counties working to pair caregivers with folks who need help maintaining their independence.
