Driven by their personal desires to make a difference in the community, Steve and Christina Gettins took over ownership of the <a href="http://www.rightathomefranchise.com/?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=pottstown-mercury-right-at-home-franchisees-help-families-care-for-loved-ones-3265" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Right at Home</a> location in Chester Springs with the hope of easing the process for families coping with caring for their loved ones. The two had experiences of their own when Steve&#8217;s father fell ill with liver cancer and Christina had acted as a primary caregiver for her grandfather after college. &#8220;There are a lot of families out there going through similar experiences. If we can keep folks in their homes longer and in their environments we can help them live longer,&#8221; Christina said. The couple actively started seeking out franchise opportunities last spring that fit their strict criteria and diverse skillsets. Steve had a strong business background, graduating from Cornell University and working in sales and operations, while Christina worked in healthcare administration. &#8220;We had always had the dream of owning our own business &#8212; we wanted to open one with a heart and in the community. Our personal experience steered us to senior home care. And as we looked, <a href="http://rightathome.1851franchise.com/?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=pottstown-mercury-right-at-home-franchisees-help-families-care-for-loved-ones-3265" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Right at Home</a> was the right fit,&#8221; said Gettins. The Gettins are focused on hiring a qualified staff of nearly 60 individuals who are not only reliable but compassionate. With a staggering growth plan to hire more than 100 caregivers each year, the couple will be providing quality, assisted living care to hundreds of individuals throughout lower Berks, upper Chester and western Montgomery counties. &#8220;The simplicity of our mission is to improve the quality of lives for those we serve. Every client, every care plan is different. We can gear to every individual and meet their needs wherever it is &#8212; in their home, their child&#8217;s home or a living facility.
