<a href="http://www.rightathomefranchise.com/?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=right-at-home-provides-wheelchairs-for-impoverished-in-mexico-2885" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Right at Home</a> franchisees Rick and Diane Carson have partnered with the Free Wheelchair Mission and Operation Blessing to help purchase 150 wheelchairs for impoverished men, women and children in Mexico. After a trip to the Philippines with their church, Rick and Diane Carson wanted to help give back in their own way. With help from the corporate team at <a href="http://rightathome.1851franchise.com/?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=right-at-home-provides-wheelchairs-for-impoverished-in-mexico-2885" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Right at Home</a>, Free Wheelchair Mission and Operation Blessing, the Carsons got a group of eight people together to distribute wheelchairs to residents of Mexico. The group paid for their own travel to Mexico and also brought smaller gifts to the five rural communities they drove through, inducing soccer balls and candy for the children. &#8220;People we would consider to be living in poverty were very content with their lives,&#8221; Rick Carson told <a href="http://www.modbee.com/news/article44528292.html?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=right-at-home-provides-wheelchairs-for-impoverished-in-mexico-2885" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">The Modesto Bee.</a> The 150 wheelchairs were built on site at each of the donation locations. Some of the recipients included a retired farmer, an ill minister and a young boy who suffers from brain-damage. &#8220;Most were people who were lucky to be able to get there, and at huge expense to them to make the trip,&#8221; Diane Carson told The Modesto Bee in the same article. &#8220;We had one little guy, a farmer retired about 25 years. He could walk just a little, and he was so excited.&#8221; Carson went on to say the retired farmer asked if his wife, who didn&#8217;t make the trip, could also receive a wheelchair. Luckily the Carson&#8217;s and their group were able to secure a wheelchair for the farmer&#8217;s wife. Right at Home website associate Brooke Shighly said she was humbled to be able to experience this trip. &#8220;Just being in the caregiving industry, knowing how much time and effort it takes &#8211; the families were so happy,&#8221; Shigley said. &#8220;It took a lot of the burden and extra work off them.
