92-year-old Mary Hartstock has won the brand's Caregiver of the Year award.
Retiring at 65 is a thing of the past for today's seniors. Gone are the days of hanging up your work boots for a life of leisure playing golf; many retirees want to work past the typical retirement age.
While sticking with the 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. schedule may not be viable, seniors are great candidates for part-time jobs. One of those positions that's perfect for retirees looking to fill their days with meaningful work is a caregiver.
This held true for Mary Hartstock, who felt lonely after losing her husband. She took a job with Right At Home, an in-home senior care service in Frederick, Maryland.
"They took a chance with me, and Right at Home is an excellent place to work," Hartsock told the U.S. News & World Report.
Now 92, Hartstock is still at work and is an exemplary employee who even earned the accolade of Right At Home Caregiver of the Year in 2014.
While some clients of the company require help with heavy-lifting, many of Right At Home's clients simply need help with chores, cooking and shopping.
"We spend a lot of time making sure we get the right caregiver with the right client," Betty Harris, vice president of RightTEAM for Right at Home told the publication.
