Though they considered taking over a day care franchise due to Vonda’s education background, they ultimately connected with a business broker and learned of&nbsp;<a href="https://seniorshelpingseniorsfranchise.com/?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=navy-veteran-former-educator-celebrate-5th-anniversary-with-seniors-helping-seniors-in-reno-nv-2727760" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Seniors Helping Seniors</a>, the 200-plus-unit senior care franchise that pairs senior caregivers with other seniors in need of care.&nbsp;The opportunity resonated with the Moxeys due to the broader impact they would be able to have, providing a new sense of purpose and fulfillment for people who may not find a great fit in more traditional work environments but still want to help.&nbsp;Now, as they celebrate five years in business, the Moxeys have impacted hundreds of families and caregivers in the Reno area and plan to continue growing responsibly as they scale that impact on an ongoing basis.Moxey took the time to chat with 1851 Franchise to discuss all of this and more. Here’s what he had to say:1851 Franchise: Frame your personal story for us. What did you do before franchising, and how did you decide franchising made sense for you?Clint Moxey:&nbsp;I am a Navy veteran, and after I retired from the service, I was a sales manager. My wife was in education for decades, teaching special education and doing some vice principal work during her time. When she retired, she said, “What are we going to do with our time?” I was still working as a sales manager, but we began to look into the possibility of doing something for ourselves.Before&nbsp;<a href="https://1851franchise.com/seniorshelpingseniors/info">Seniors Helping Seniors</a>, my wife and I considered opening a day care due to her background in education. However, after some reflection, we pivoted towards Seniors Helping Seniors when a business broker introduced it to us. We saw a significant need for quality senior care in our community, and it felt like the right fit for us.&nbsp;1851: What was your perception of franchising prior to becoming a franchisee, and what do you want people to know about franchising now that you are in it?Moxey:&nbsp;Initially, I saw franchising as a structured way to start a business with guidance. That’s true, but I also want prospective franchisees to understand that it’s also about community and support among fellow franchisees — something that is incredibly valuable for growth as an entrepreneur.&nbsp;1851:&nbsp;What made you pick this brand? What excites you most about this company?Moxey:&nbsp;&nbsp;I chose Seniors Helping Seniors because of its mission to help those in need while also providing caregivers with purpose. We’re helping those in need of care by providing care, and we’re helping seniors who still want to work by providing opportunities that are attainable to them and resonate with them and their current desires.I continue to be excited about the positive impact we have on families and the relationships we foster. I love seeing how far that ripple effect can go, especially as we celebrate five years of making a difference in our community.&nbsp;The world can be a crazy place, but knowing that I can take a call and get someone the help they need in the matter of a week, without a shadow of a doubt, is one of the most fulfilling things. It’s like my little safe haven.1851:&nbsp;What do you hope to achieve with your business? What are your plans for growth?&nbsp;Moxey:&nbsp;I hope to create a sustainable business that continues to provide excellent care. Our growth plan includes adding more clients and caregivers, but we’re most focused on doing so responsibly and healthily. We want to ensure we can meet the needs of our community without compromising service quality.&nbsp;As we move into our sixth year, I’m focused on expanding our reach while maintaining high standards of care.&nbsp;1851:&nbsp;What is the one thing about your story you want us to know?Moxey:&nbsp;My personal experience with my mom’s dementia and my dad’s struggle as a caregiver deeply influences my commitment to this business. It drives me to ensure that families receive the support they need, and it’s a big reason why I’m so proud of the work we’re doing with Seniors Helping Seniors.1851:&nbsp;What advice do you have for other people thinking about becoming a franchise owner?Moxey:&nbsp;If you have a desire to help others and make a difference in your community, franchising is one of the best things you can do.
