Seniors Helping Seniors on WSYM-TV in Lansing, Michigan

Franchisee Amy Kanouse speaks on how Seniors Helping Seniors has had to pivot amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a recent interview on WSYM-TV, the FOX affiliate in Lansing, Michigan, Seniors Helping Seniors franchisee Amy Kanouse addressed how her business has had to pivot during the current coronavirus pandemic as well as how people can help the elderly from a safe distance. Seniors are the most at-risk group for COVID-19, which is why it’s important for people to check in with their loved ones to ensure they are safe and cared for during these times.

“My advice is to make sure that you are checking in on your neighbors and family members daily to ensure they have enough food, medication and their essential needs are met,” Kanouse told WSYM. “There are a lot of services out there as far as grocery delivery and pickup. Most of my caregivers are doing grocery runs and dropping them off on their porch to keep them safe.”

Other ways to stay engaged with your elderly loved ones include making care packages, organizing window walks and holding regular video calls.
