Knoxville, get ready for an elevated, modern waste removal experience. VaVia (Italian for “it goes away”) has become the premier player in the growing waste-removal industry with its proprietary technology, streamlined operations and a leadership team backed by a combined 50-plus years of experience in the waste, franchising and technology development industries. And now, the brand is open in Knoxville.

The location at 4725 Western Ave. opened at the end of 2021 and offers the brand’s reliable services and proprietary technology that allows customers to order and schedule deliveries or pick ups of dumpsters online.

The new location is owned and operated by Knoxville-based franchise partners Serge and Linda Emelkin, who are excited to bring VaVia’s uniquely tech-forward waste removal services to contractors, construction companies, renovators, remodelers and more across Knoxville.

The husband-and-wife pair behind VaVia always knew they wanted to open their own business. After nearly two decades worth of experience in the railroad industry, Serge shifted his focus and started a corporate position in the waste removal industry a few years ago. When he and his wife Linda, a former school teacher, decided it was time to take control of their own destiny once and for all, they knew they wanted the support infrastructure and proven business model of a franchise, especially following the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We are excited to restore order to the people, homes and businesses of Knoxville’s fast-growing community by removing excess junk and giving them back their spaces,” said the Emelkins.

The new Knoxville location is part of VaVia’s plan to sign 100 franchises by 2026. By the end of 2022, VaVia hopes to have 10 new units signed.

“We're thrilled to bring the VaVia brand to the community of Knoxville alongside Serge and Linda," said Nappi. "With construction projects in Knoxville increasing, demand for our waste removal services is at an all-time high.”

As the franchise embarks on its ambitious expansion efforts, Nappi says he is confident that franchisees like Serge and Linda will grow with the brand.

“Through our tech-forward approach and commitment to providing our customers with top tier service, we're confident that Serge and Linda will continue to grow in Knoxville as VaVia continues to expand through its franchise ownership opportunity across the country,” Nappi added.

“Through our tech-forward approach and commitment to providing our customers with top tier service, we're confident that our new franchise partners will continue to grow in the market as VaVia continues to expand through its franchise ownership opportunity across the country,” CEO Tim Wells said. “Our business is bringing a white glove service approach to the waste industry, particularly in the construction services segment. That level of commitment to customer service can’t be found anywhere else. Our model is also customer facing and designed to provide an ease of doing business that’s otherwise lacking in the industry. We’re looking forward to entering Knoxville, introducing them to the VaVia brand and growing relationships within the community.”

The total cost to invest in VaVia ranges from $117,150 to $365,050 per territory. To learn more about franchising with VaVia, visit: https://www.govavia.com/franchise-with-us/
