As I was on my way to pick up my lunch today, I stopped at 7-Eleven for a beverage. Not in the mood for a typical Gatorade or Cherry Coke, I found myself stumbling down to the teas when, BAM!, I see SODA SHAQ, a brand new cream soda line by AriZona Beverages featuring Shaquille O’Neal. Not being able to resist, I bought one and began to think about other recent celebrity endorsements that seem bizarre or random. With an endorsement list including Papa John's, Buick, Wheaties, DirecTV, Reebok and Gatorade, there’s no shortage of Manning and said opportunities. Taylor Swift Whether you love Taylor Swift or not, there’s no denying she is quickly becoming a coveted celebrity for endorsements. Her cult-like following is leading consumer powerhouses such as CoverGirl and Diet Coke to quickly line up to work with America’s sweetheart. Shaquille O’Neal We’re pretty sure Shaq doesn’t actually fit in a midsized Buick LaCrosse, but that definitely doesn’t stop him from the endorsement! With one of the widest ranges of endorsements throughout his career, from Gold Bond to VitaminWater, Shaq dominates, not to mention SODA SHAQ. It’s a big can, he’s a big man. End of story.
