Today, TechCrunch announced that Google Maps will now have an "Explore" tab that allows users to learn more about what's happening in their neighborhood. The mapping tool will also have a "For you" tab that shares restaurant recommendations and offer users the ability to "follow" neighborhoods and an opt-in to receive updates on new restaurants and cafes.

Google is also releasing a feature called "Your Match" which assigns users a rating of compatibility to restaurants and bars based on ones they enjoyed on previous occasions. Future rollouts will include "Group planning" which allows users to create a list of future bars and restaurants that friends can vote on.

Features began rolling out today, but the "For you" tab is only available in the U.S., U.K., Canada, Australia and Japan for now.
