In this week's show, to help you better prepare for next year, I will share the most updated nationwide minimum wage increase information. Please be sure to check state and local updates regularly. This information can change frequently, so it's important to verify before you make any plans or changes in your restaurants or within your company. At the time of recording this show, there are 23 US states that have state updates and eight states that have local increases as of January 1, 2023.

In addition to outlining the new minimum wage details effective January 1, I will answer the following questions:

  • What if an employee has multiple minimum wage rates?
  • What if I have employees living in other states with different minimum wages?
  • What should I do when I have current employees who already make more than the new minimum wage?
  • Do I need new posters or notices in my restaurants?
