ABOUT TIDE SERVICES

Tide Services is building the future of out-of-home laundry through two complementary franchise concepts: Tide Cleaners and Tide Laundromat. Tide Cleaners launched in 2008 as a way to bring a more professional, convenient and trusted experience to dry cleaning and garment care. The model has since evolved into a flexible, scalable platform that can include plant stores, drop stores, delivery routes, lockers, acquisitions, wash-and-fold services, alterations and household item cleaning. Tide Laundromat launched in 2023 to reimagine the self-service laundry experience. Built around clean, bright, staffed lobbies, smart machines, app-based payments, free Wi-Fi, premium detergents and fast cycles, Tide Laundromat gives consumers a more modern alternative to the traditional laundromat. Together, Tide Cleaners and Tide Laundromat enable franchisees to become the out-of-home laundry provider in their market, serving multiple consumer segments through a single trusted brand platform.

For a new build, the estimated initial investment ranges from $709,700 to $1,510,800 for a plant store and $119,200 to $592,800 for a drop store. Tide Services stands out because it is not simply a dry cleaner or a laundromat. It is a broader out-of-home laundry platform designed to meet consumers wherever they are.

Tide Cleaners serves customers who want professional garment care, shirt laundering, wash-and-fold, alterations, household item cleaning and pickup and delivery. Tide Laundromat serves customers who need a clean, fast and comfortable place to do their own laundry, as well as those who want wash-and-fold service.

That flexibility gives franchisees multiple ways to grow their business. A franchisee can build a plant store as an operational hub, add drop stores, expand delivery, convert existing dry cleaners, acquire local operators or layer in laundromats.

The brand also brings a level of technology, marketing and operational sophistication that most independent operators cannot match. Tide Services offers an in-house technology ecosystem, a highly rated app, real-time reporting, first-party customer data, marketing support, franchise business consultants, training, real estate support and operational guidance.

Laundry is one of the most universal needs in consumer life, but the out-of-home laundry category has remained highly fragmented. Dry cleaning is still dominated by local mom-and-pop businesses, many of which are facing succession challenges. Laundromats, meanwhile, have often been viewed as outdated, dark, inconsistent or inconvenient.

The timing is especially strong as consumers continue to seek convenience, delivery, app-based service and trusted providers for everyday needs. At the same time, experienced operators are looking for service-based franchise opportunities outside of restaurants, where rising food costs, labor pressures and operational complexity have made growth more difficult.

Why You

Tide Services is best suited for entrepreneurs who want to build a long-term, market-based service business. The ideal franchisee is engaged, operationally minded and willing to learn the business, especially in the early years.

What matters most is leadership, patience, capital readiness and the ability to build and manage a strong team. Tide Services is not positioned as a passive or quick-ramp investment. Owners should expect to be involved as they open, train teams, build customer relationships and establish their local operating base.

For multi-unit operators, especially those coming from restaurants or retail, Tide Services offers a compelling diversification opportunity with fewer product categories, strong recurring demand and a category that still has significant room for modernization.

The $115 billion laundry and dry cleaning industry is built around recurring, essential demand. Consumers always need clean clothes, household items, uniforms, linens and professional garments. But the category is fragmented from a business standpoint. Many independent operators are aging, underinvested or lacking modern technology. That creates opportunities for new builds, conversions and acquisitions.

Tide Services is positioned to grow because it brings clarity to that confusion. Instead of consumers having to choose between multiple local providers, Tide gives them one familiar brand for dry cleaning, laundry, wash-and-fold, delivery, self-service laundromats and household fabric care.

“The dry-cleaning industry hadn't changed much in the last 50 years. There wasn't a major national player or any real consolidation happening in the industry. There were larger regional brands, but nothing with the national recognition that Tide brought to the table. What appealed to us was that Tide wasn't starting from scratch. The store concept was new, but the product brand already had decades of trust behind it. People grew up with Tide. Their parents and grandparents used Tide. That brand recognition was incredibly powerful. We also aligned with the company's values and the way they do business. Another factor was that we wanted to be in an industry that wasn't likely to be disrupted out of existence by technology. We've implemented a lot of our own technology over the years, but at its core, dry cleaning remains a necessary service.”

– Robert Lyons, a Tide Cleaners franchisee who owns 42 locations across five states.
