TODAY: Taco Bell Unveils Tortilla Chips Based on ‘Fire’ and ‘Mild’ Sauces

Three flavors of tortilla chips will be available at grocery and convenience stores in May.

Taco Bell’s latest LTO—nacho fries—are taking off across the country. Now, according to TODAY, the chain is building on that momentum by releasing a new snack. Taco Bell announced that it’s releasing a line of flavored tortilla chips in May that will be sold in grocery and convenience stores. The chips will come in three different flavors, two of which are inspired by the brand’s hot sauce packets.

“This launch of our first line of sauce packet-inspired chips gives our fans a new way to access a taste of Taco Bell,” said Marisa Thalberg, Taco Bell's chief brand officer. “Our sauce packets are one of the brand’s most unique aspects and were the natural choice for both the flavors and packaging of our tortilla chips.”

This isn’t the first time that Taco Bell has released products specifically designed for grocery and convenience stores. It already sells branded beans, taco shells and bottled hot sauces through a partnership with Kraft.
