In today’s global and international business landscape, traveling is inevitable. With heightened security, traveling can usually become one of the most frustrating parts of your business career. We've compiled a list of the top domestic airports according to two expert traveling gurus, Scott Sutton, VP of Franchise Development at Safeguard and Kurt Godwin, multi-unit owner of Mosquito Joe* in Maryland. So next time you have a business meeting or layover, take it from the pros and travel smoothly. [caption id="attachment_6519" align="alignleft" width="145" caption="Kurt Godwin"][/caption] Kurt Godwin, a commercial airline pilot and owner of Mosquito Joe in the Maryland area, is an avid travel enthusiast and has flown for both the Washington Redskins and U.S Airways. His top airports include: Ft. Lauderdale/Hollywood International (FLL) I've flown into all of these airports both as a pilot and a passenger.  Ft. Lauderdale presents the beauty of South Florida and usually glimpses of the Bahamas are common, while the runways are long and ATC is efficient.  From a passenger perspective, it is much more convenient and the prices are generally much better than Miami. Burbank/Glendale/Pasadena Airport (BUR) Burbank offers beautiful views of the mountains of north Los Angeles and the airport is very efficient.  As a passenger, it is much more convenient and significantly less hectic than LAX. Baltimore/Washington International (BWI) Flying into Baltimore always affords beautiful views of the northern Chesapeake Bay.  The runways are efficient and BWI is one of the few airports that has a separate runway for commuter airplanes and private aircraft that significantly reduces the congestion for airliners.  The terminal is nice with many food and shopping choices and as a reliever to both Reagan National and Washington-Dulles, the prices are generally much better. [caption id="attachment_6521" align="alignleft" width="135" caption="Scott Sutton"][/caption] As Vice President of franchise development at Safeguard, a business management solutions brand, Scott Sutton travels at least two full days a week domestically. Below is his list of top airports: San Francisco (SFO) If you like an exciting approach on landing, then a flight to SFO is definitely in order. With parallel runways landing are done with planes landing in tandem. There’s also a great view of the Bay and the San Mateo Bridge. If you’re lucky, you’ll be on the side of the plane with views of the San Francisco peninsula. Reagan National Airport (DCA) Because of airspace requirements and the angle of descent to the runway, planes make sharp turns and rapid moves to get down on the asphalt and up to the clouds alike. And the views? Especially at night, a clear view of the mall in Washington highlights many of the Nation’s most impressive monuments. Can be a great photo op (just don’t let the flight attendants catch you craning your iPhone for a quick snap of the Capitol). Oklahoma City (OKC) Recently renovated, the boarding areas sport large, high-quality seating areas with ample power outlets for surge hogs like me. The terminal area is also well appointed with shops, bars and restaurants to keep you busy between flights. Plus, it’s Oklahoma; so if you enjoy people watching, grab a seat and gaze the open spaces: you’re as likely to see a future football player as you are the next country music star.
