The Flint Courier News: Atypical Senior Citizens Ready to Help Other Seniors Age in Place
TruBlue Total House Care co-owners begin to expand their services to help seniors age at home.
Glenda and Bob Kniss bought the home service franchise, TruBlue Total House Care, in February of last year. Since then, the couple has remained true to their mission of affordable, worry-free living for seniors and hassle-free living for young adults. Now, the Knisses are preparing to enter into the Aging in Place program of TruBlue so they can help seniors in the community stay in their homes.
“Let’s say a person was in the hospital. Then, they have to go into rehab. If they hire us to go into their home, before they come, we can go in and take up throw rugs. Maybe a ramp will be needed. We can build a ramp. We can change light fixtures,” said Glenda Kniss. “We can get the house ready so that when that person comes home, they don’t have to worry about their safety at all.”
The aging-in-place service isn’t just for those seniors who have been injured, though. The service can also be helpful for those who are just getting older and need some extra assistance in their homes.
