Franchisee at TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Spurs Success Amid Pandemic
Wisconsin-based franchisee Tim Lightner sheds light on what led him to success in 2020.
Wisconsin TWO MEN AND A TRUCK franchisee Tim Lightner saw several months with record sales during the pandemic when many people were out of work. In a recent Franchise Times article, Lightner shares insight on how he was able to expand his business and see success during trying times.
Prior to February of 2020, Lightner only owned two TWO MEN AND A TRUCK locations. It was a perfect-timing scenario that Lightner was able to acquire two locations in the perfect market - he’s based between Milwaukee and Madison and the two new locations were based in Milwaukee.
“Having four neighboring locations in Wisconsin has worked out to benefit everyone,” Lightner told Franchise Times. “If one of my locations is booked up for a day, another location with openings can step in and help out, for example, which also helps drive revenue.”
When COVID-19 hit, Lightner switched to junk-removal services to continue driving revenue. Lightner says it’s new to his team and they’re still learning, but it’s been a game changer for survival and thrival amid the pandemic.
In addition, Lightner credits the franchisor with being extremely helpful during the pandemic. The brand’s culture of trust really shined during the pandemic and Lightner appreciated that. He nods to the fact that this is truly a joint partnership where open conversations are encouraged to help everyone win.
