The Suburbanite: Cardboard boats race the Portage Lakes for pet fundraiser
TWO MEN AND A TRUCK raise money for Movers for Mutts campaign

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK's second annual Cardboard Boat Race took place at Portage Lakes on Sunday, September 10. The event marked the start of their yearly Movers for Mutts campaign, a fundraiser the moving company holds to raise money and collect donations for One of a Kind Pet Rescue in Akron.
More than $2,500 was raised on Sunday by boat sponsors along with roughly 300 supplies collected for the shelter including blankets, dog and cat food and pet toys. Adoptable animals were also at the fundraiser and the winning team received a free play date with the dogs and cats at One of a Kind Pet Rescue.
“We just thought this would be a really fun way to bring dogs out here and take advantage of Akron and the Portage Lakes area and combine this with a fun kickoff event,” TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Marketing Specialist Jessica Chapman told The Suburbanite.
